His sarcastic wit is certainly present in this book; however, he is no longer hiding behind his carefully constructed facade. In order to save her mother's life, Luke's poor sister Amatis saves her life from the freaky water.

I can't finished this book! There's obviously something wrong with this book? She eats her food, wears her cloth. There was nothing mind blowing or anything.

She did very well to show the tortured nature of the characters in this book. Jace especially. Alec: Gains a glads a little too late. I still do.

His torment over Clary is glaringly obvious from the first chapter. Idgaf about how this series supposedly gets better because it doesn't? After all that's been going on with Cassie Clare lately I can't have this on my page anymore. It's also making me lose my religion.

Love is a mortal sin, and the secrets of the past are deadly. Plunge into the third installment in the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series and "prepare to be hooked" Entertainment Weekly. To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters-never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight. As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian.

Later note: Find out there is a fourth one. Clary was the only person in the world that made Jace feel like he belonged and she was the only person he belonged to and the fact that she didn't turn away from him when he told her that he loved her probably meant more to him than her morttal until she knew the truth to love him back the same way. I was just hoping for something different, non-mainstream. Series of six young adult fantasy novels written by Cassandra Clare. And the review is funny.

The Mortal Instruments is a series of six young adult fantasy novels written by Cassandra Clare , the last of which was published on May 27, The Mortal Instruments is chronologically the third series of a proposed five in The Shadowhunter Chronicles but it was the first one published. It follows Clary Fray who interacts with a group of Nephilim known as Shadowhunters while also discovering her own heritage. The Shadowhunters protect the world of mundane people, who are also called mundanes or "mundies", from dark forces beyond their world. When she began writing City of Bones , she did not view it as a young adult work, but first and foremost as a fantasy novel, where the main characters just happened to be teenagers.

The only problem I had with this book, the big reveal was pretty obvious by about page but she still tried to keep it a mystery. Watching him struggle with himself, with things he cannot control. Clary thinks something near the end about how can you hate someone for being a monster when they don't even realise they are a monster? Isabelle: By this point she's just Jace's mouth piece.👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

  2. Marco G. says:

Desperate to help him, Clary plunges into solving the mystery, coming ever closer to a secret whose revelation may mend her relationship with Jace—or rip it apart forever. His new case immediately takes on a David vs. Goliath feel which emotionally pulls the audience into the story like the best books do. To fully appreciate it, I re-listened to book one and then continued straight into book two. 🦶
