This book isn't just Krakauer's compulsive hunger to tear down someone else. It is good to know about them and about what is important to them. The lack of training and credentials is important, downolad it calls into question Krakaeur's competence. If children all over america realize how great they ckps it, how important it is to have an education and that they have the power to enrich the lives of children all over the world?

I am inclined to believe him on Mortenson being a fraud because he sounds very much like he was also duped by the man. The writing isn't great, but the story is VERY interesting. Mortenson showing off how spartan he can live while doing everything selflessly for others, the idea of actually getting teachers for the schools is entirely glossed over the book is so damn fixated if the logistics of the buildings. Reading this very short page book is like being told as a child that Santa doesn't exist - all the arguments are logical but you still don't quite want to believe them.

    The Central Asia Institute has the potential to be a legitimate charity. I realize this book has moved many, many other readers. A prank of sorts. At last count, his Central Asia Institute had built fifty-five schools?🕵️‍♀️
